Surrounded by the low hills of South Kesteven, Grantham is a market town in Lincolnshire, with a population of approximately 30,000. The nearest cities are Lincoln (28m), Nottingham (25m) and Peterborough (38m). It is an hour from London King’s Cross by train (National Express). The A1 road from London to Edinburgh passes close by. (Grantham was formerly a Stagecoach stop, and a number of old inns, most notably the Angel and Royal are reminders of the past.) The oldest and most notable buildings are the parish church of St. Wulfram, along with the Library of the Kings School (where Sir Isaac Newton received part of his education). The most recent ‘export’ of the town, Lady Margaret Thatcher, was Prime Minister of Great Britain during the 1980’s.

Barrowby
The parish of All Saints, Barrowby is grouped with St Sebastian’s Gonerby parish with which it shares a minister. The combined population of the benefice was 5700 in 2001. This will continue to grow for some time as the building of new houses continues. There is one school in the Barrowby Parish - Barrowby Church of England Primary School, which is situated next to the Church. The church and the school have close links with each other.
